Unframed (2021) Review

“Unframed” is a short film project written and directed by four artists (Jung-Min Park, Seok-Gu Son, Hee-Seo Choi, and Je-Hoon Lee) who are exploring new possibilities outside the frame.

“Unframed” contains four works that boast different charms: ‘Class Representative Election’, ‘Rerun’, ‘Bandi’, and ‘Blue Happiness’. Elementary school ‘Chief Election’ (director Park Jung-min) illuminates the scene of the class president election in the second class of the fifth grade of elementary school. ‘Rerun’ depicting the day of aunt and nephew who accompany to the wedding hall (director Seok-gu Son). Single mother So-young and nine from ‘Bandi’ (director Hee-Seo Choi), the story of her older daughter, Bandi. ‘Blue Happiness’ (director Je-hoon Lee), which depicts the story of youth living in the city every day. ‘Unframed’ shows the perspectives of four directors with different personalities will provide a variety of fun to the audience.

‘Class Representative Election’, (directed by Park Jung-min) which illuminates the scene of the class president election in the second class classroom of the fifth grade of elementary school, arouses curiosity with the unusual atmosphere of the classroom before the ballot paper is passed after the tense class president election.

‘Rerun’ (directed by Sohn Seok-gu) is a work depicting the day of an aunt and nephew who accompany to a wedding venue, and the story and chemistry of the characters that add to the curiosity with only stills make people expect a special sensibility.

‘Bandi’ (Director Choi Hee-Seo) is the story of a single mother Soyoung and her nine-year-old daughter, Bandi, foretelling a warm story with a mother and daughter looking at each other with a smile.

‘Blue Happiness’ (Director Lee Je-hoon) is a work that depicts the story of youth living in the city every day, raising curiosity about what kind of story will be told by actor Jung Hae-in, who is sitting in front of a table and holding a camera lens with a surprised expression, who is making a serious expression while fixing his gaze on his cell phone.

The short film project ‘Unframed’, written and directed by four artists with free personalities, Park Jung-min, Son Seok-gu, Choi Hee-Seo, and Je-hoon Lee, will be released exclusively through Watcha in December after being screened for world premiere at the 26th Pusan International Film Festival.
