The King’s Affection (2021) Review

Review

“The King’s Affection” is a secret royal romance drama that takes place as a child who was born as twins and abandoned just for being a girl who becomes a crown prince through the death of her brother.

Park Eun-bin takes on the role of Crown Prince Lee Hwi, who bears a secret that cannot but be hidden, and Ro Woon plays Lee Hwi’s teacher, Jung Ji-Woon.

The production team confidently said, “Park Eun-bin, who is going to transform into a woman disguised as a man and a crown prince, will drive a whirlpool of emotions and give viewers an unforgettable romance this fall.”

Park Eun-bin plays the role of Crown Prince Lee Hwi, who has a secret that cannot be told to anyone in the play. Lee Hwi is her twin who lives the life of her dead brother, and a fake prince who constantly fights with herself day by day. Because Hwi tries to overcome the harsh fate that lies in front of him without being trapped, she has a colder personality than “ice”, who does not allow anyone to be by her side easily. The continuation of a strange relationship with Jung Ji-Woon (Rowoon), who appeared without warning in Hwi’s life, raises expectations as it is expected to provide both fun and heart-fluttering excitement.

Before, Park Eun-bin has appeared in various genres without fear of her transformation. As a result of showing her acting skills, and unrivaled presence in each of her works, she has settled in the public mind as an actress who is the first to come to mind with the modifier ‘trustworthy actress’.

The second teaser video released on the 20th tells the story of the teacher Jeong Ji-Woon (Rowoon), who is confused and excited at the same time when he sees the face of a beautiful woman from Crown Prince Lee Hwi (Park Eun-bin).

Ji-Woon, who was sitting opposite Hwi and drinking tea, is surprised to see a woman with elegant grace inside Hwi holding a teacup. He tried to calm his mind for a while, and the thing that flashed before his eyes was the Crown Prince, who was a strange woman, and it confuses Jiwoon. What’s more, when he sees it, his heart keeps beating and he is instinctively drawn to it. And at some point, Jiwoon’s eyes looking at Hwi, and his lips are filled with a lovely smile. Ji-Woon, who corrects the appearance of the god, and Hwi, who made eye contact, felt like their heart would stop trembling.

Above all, the released video doubles the interest with moments where you can glimpse the charms of each character. Jiwoon’s transparent charm came to life when he was surprised by sudden tremors such as a bewildered expression and shaking pupils, and Hwi’s harsh voice rebuking him sternly raised expectations for his gentle charisma as a crown prince. The production team said, “The ‘heart-pounding’ moments of Hwi and Jiwoon are expected to color the secret palace with fresh excitement. Please look forward to the chemistry between Eunbin Park and Rowoon that will make all the viewers smile.”
