Snowdrop (2021) Review

Review

JTBC’s “Snowdrop” confirmed its first broadcast at 10:30 pm on December 18 (Sat) and released a teaser poster containing the exciting moments of Jung Hae-in and Jisoo. The appearance of the two is moistening the emotions of viewers in the deepening autumn.

JTBC’s new Saturday and Sunday drama “Snowdrop” (screenwriter by Yoo Hyun-mi/directed by Jo Hyun-Taek/produced by Drama House Studio, JTBC Studio) is looking at Im Soo Ho (played by Jung Hae-in) who is looking somewhere with faint eyes under the warm sunlight and looking at him with affectionate eyes. A teaser poster of EunYoung-Ro (Jisoo) has been released.

In the teaser poster, Jung Hae-in and Ji-soo expressed the fresh start of Su-ho and Young-ro with their expressions full of excitement and showed the affectionate feelings that came and went between the two characters in a pose that looked at each other as if cautiously. In particular, ‘Snowdrop’, a dimly visible white flower-draped between Suho and Young Ro, adds a romantic atmosphere to the appearance of the two and makes viewers’ hearts flutter.

However, the appearance of the two makes us feel the blissful moments of a lover at the beginning and a certain tension at the end of their misaligned gaze. Also, ‘You mustn’t be caught. The copy of ‘Love and Destiny’ also created an atmosphere contrary to the warm atmosphere of the poster, raising expectations for the drama’s narrative.

“Snowdrop” is a drama about a desperate love story that goes against the times of Suho, a prestigious university student, who suddenly jumped into a dormitory at a women’s university. In 1987, Im Soo Ho and Eun Young Ro are students at a prestigious university in Seoul. Im Soo Ho, who grew up in Germany, has a gentle charm but gives off an air of secrecy.  Eun Young Ro, who is lively, lovable, and cheerful, fell in love with him at first sight at a social gathering. One day, Soo Ho suddenly rushes into a female dormitory covered in blood, and Eun Young Ro hides him and tends to his wounds despite facing danger under close surveillance.

Among those monitoring, Soo Ho and Young Ro must avoid Pi Seung Hee, the notoriously strict and imposing housemother of Young Ro’s dorm, and Kye Boon Ok, a phone operator at the dorm who had to forgo a college education due to her family’s financial circumstances.

Lee Kang Moo is the relentless head of Team 1 of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and always insists on doing everything by the book. By contrast, NIS agent Jang Han Na is impulsive, hot-tempered, and passionate about her job.

Kang Chung Ya is a beautiful and talented surgeon at a state-run hospital who can charm anyone in a split second. Although her skills in the operating room have earned her a solid reputation as a dependable surgeon, Dr. Kang is mysterious and appears to be hiding something.
