Rep. Ocasio-Cortez curses at Congress’s inner workings

A democratic socialist from New York profanely criticized the way federal politics operates.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez openly cursed at U.S. Congress’s inner workings, and the lawmaking process, for poor planning and missed opportunities.

“Honestly, it is a [expletive] show, it is scandalizing every single day [and] … it never stops being scandalizing,” she said according to The New Yorker.

Ocasio-Cortez described high-ranking elected leaders as mentally challenged and unrealistic morons.

“Sometimes to be in a room with some of the most powerful people in the country, and see the ways that they make decisions, sometimes they are just susceptible to groupthink [and] susceptible to self-delusion,” she said according to the paper.

The congresswoman revealed some fellow Democrats are more motivated by political gain than serving the American people during key policy decisions.

“Some of the most powerful people in the country [were] talking about how, if we pass the infrastructure bill right now, then this will be what the president can campaign on,” she said.

“The American people will give him credit for it, he can win his presidency on it [and,] if we do not pass it now, then we have risked democracy itself,” she added.

She openly criticized sensational media coverage, undemocratic Republicans, and Joe Biden for not being assertive enough.

“The president has not been using his executive power to the extent that some would say is necessary,” she said according to The Hill. “We are seeing this dynamic perhaps extend a little bit into the Biden administration, with a reluctance to use executive power.”

However, she refrained from questioning House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s leadership and prefers to quietly wait for Pelosi to retire from political life.

“It is not even just a question of the speaker, it is a question of our caucus,” she said according to the publication.

“I wish the Democratic Party had more stones [and] I wish our party was capable of truly supporting bold leadership that can address root causes,” she added.
