Mother Dearest (2022)

A son, Kim Il-hwan, who was adopted to the United States when he was two and returned to Korea after 40 years, and his mother (Kim Sook-nyeon), who is over 70, are reunited. A son who can’t speak Korean and an elderly mother who can’t speak English are happy just seeing each other face to face, smiling, hugging, and stroking each other. As the old woman is diagnosed with breast cancer and her son decides to live with her, the words and emotions that cannot be conveyed also pile up. Two foreigners who share blood but have lived in a different culture for over 40 years, meeting again and breaking down the barriers of time and language.
