Grid (2022) Review

Disney+’s original series ‘Grid’ (screenplayed by Lee Soo-yeon, directed by Lee Khan) is a mystery-tracking thriller between an administrative agency employee and a detective who uncovers the truth about the mysterious existence that saved mankind in crisis. ‘Grid’, which was first unveiled at the Disney+ APAC content showcase on the 14th, finished all the shooting schedules that have been running for the past several months. After that, he will focus on post-production and present high-quality works that will present a new paradigm for genres in the first half of next year to viewers around the world through Disney+.

‘Grid’ is a work that has already attracted attention from inside and outside the broadcaster’s due to the collaboration of writer Lee Soo-yeon, who opened a new horizon for the genre with ‘Secret Forest’, and director Lee Khan, who showed a sharp direction in the movie ‘The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful’. In addition to the solid acting skills and the casting of Seo Kang-joon, Kim Ah-joong, Kim Mu-yeol, Kim Sung-kyun, and Lee Si-young, who are considered to be the actors who optimize the genre, it has emerged as a highly anticipated Disney+ original series in 2022.

First of all, Seo Kang-joon, who shows various characters by trying to transform in each of his works, takes on the role of Kim Sae-ha, an employee of the Bureau of Management who pursues the truth. He is a tenacious pursuer who has been waiting for 24 years with the sole purpose of finding the ghost of the creator of the global shield grid and joining the Bureau of Management. It is the detective Jeong Sae-byeok, played by Kim Ah-joong, who made it possible to catch a clue to the mystery where there was no clue. As she witnesses an unbelievable truth at the murder scene, her collaboration with Sae-Ha begins. Kim Ah-joong, who is loved for her perfect digestion regardless of genre and character, is already raising expectations.

Kim Moo-yeol, an attractive actor who is not afraid of transformation, takes on the role of Song Eojin, an employee of the management office. For him, who has lived his life without a glance, neither the secretariat to find a woman who suddenly disappears, nor the colleagues he works with do not understand. However, an official report of a female ghost disappearing from his eyes is caught, and he is unexpectedly entangled in an incident. Kim Manok, a serial killer who is protected by a ghost, will be played by Kim Seong-gyun, the owner of an infinite acting spectrum, who returned to the villain after a long time. Manok is an orphan who does not know the exact date of birth and has no family or friends. Why the ghost wraps around such a killer is expected to become the core mystery of ‘Grid’.

At the start of all these mysteries, the ghost role is played by actor Lee Si-young, raising the dramatic tension. She disappeared after creating the grid that saved mankind 24 years ago and reappears in 2021 to protect the serial killer this time. Expectations were high for the next work of actress Lee Si-young, who shows strong charisma with perfect action acting. It seems that she will also meet her expectations on ‘Grid’ with her irresistible charm once again.

The production team said, “Recently, all filming of ‘Grid’ has ended. The actors and staff did their best to create the best work with their hard work.” he said. In addition, he also did not forget to ask the viewers, “We will meet viewers with a well-made work representing the original series of Disney+. Please give ‘Grid’ a lot of interest and support.”
