Artificial City (2021) Review

Review

JTBC’s new drama “Artificial City” (Screenwriter by Son Se-dong/directed by Jeon Chang-Geun) is set in the art museum of Sungjin Group, a conglomerate that shakes the political and business world of Korea, as a background, and tells the story of things lost by humans who desire to rise to the top. It is a psychological thriller drama. It is a psychological mystery thriller about the things that disappear when humans become greedy and ambitious for power.

In the play, Yoon Jae-hee (Soo Ae), the head of the Seongjin Cultural Foundation, is the second daughter-in-law of the Seongjin family, who is in charge of the Seongjin Group’s art museum ‘Space Jin’. Believing that her poverty eats away love, she abandoned her old lover and arranged an arranged marriage with Jeong Jun-hyeok (Kim Kang-woo), an out-of-married man from Seongjin-ga. In order to make her husband the nation’s president, she teams up with the future Public Prosecutor General and goes to war against Sung Jin Group.

Jung Jun-hyeok (Kim Kang-woo), is a signboard anchor who drives a fan club. The label of Sungjin Group’s out-of-wedlock is a lifelong feeling of inferiority, but he never expresses it. He is also a person who is waiting for the day when he can seize the reins of power where he no longer needs desire, laughing at people who want and pretending to have no desires.

While the story of Writer Son Se-dong and the sensuous direction of director Jeon Chang-Geun met, the lineup of Soo-ae (Yoon Jae-hee) and Kim Kang-woo (Jung Jun-hyuk) was revealed, raising expectations.

Rookie Lee Yi-dam transforms into Kim Yi-Seol, a docent at the Sungjin Group Museum of Art ‘Space Jin’ run by Yoon Jae-hee. Above all, as a person who has the desire to rise in status in his heart, it foretells the extraordinary performance of what kind of butterfly effect Kim Yi-Seol’s steps will bring.

Han Dong-min, played by Lee Hak-Joo, is a reporter for the news agency who dreams of a better world in which everyone lives. He believes in and respects his senior, national anchor Jeong Jun-hyeok, who is just. Hak-Joo Lee, who has a unique personality, wonders what kind of color he will add to his character this time.

Lee Chung-Joo, who challenges his first acting debut, takes on the role of Park Jeong-ho, a prosecutor at the Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Men are loyal to the belief that they must keep their loyalty. Recently, attention is focused on the new challenge of Lee Chung-ju, who appeared in the ‘Phantom Singer All-Star Exhibition’ and was active in plays and musicals.

The production team of ‘Peacock City’ said, “We recently finished filming for the first time. The actors and staff, including Soo Ae, Kang Woo Kim, Mi-Sook Kim, Yi Dam Lee, Hak Joo Lee, and Chung Joo Lee, were all united with the will to make a well-made drama, so the heat on the set was hot,” he said. We are doing our best, so please give us a lot of interest and support.”

In the published photos, the charismatic appearance of Yoon Jae-hee’s character, completed with Soo-ae’s unique elegant style, is contained. A gentle smile that makes you feel relaxed even when working shows the charm of Yoon Jae-hee from ‘Space Jin’.

However, in a situation that stands in the way, she can’t even imagine her normally, and her cold eyes and fishy expression make the viewers freeze. Soo Ae’s delicate acting, which can express a character with changing emotions, is already expected.
